UK Songstress, Rachel Kerr, is a force to be reckoned with. We’ve played host to her headlining one of our nights back in 2012, and we can bear witness to the fact the #MMLN alumni member has a commanding presence and her voice has the innate ability to leave audiences besotted. Fast forward to 2018 and riding a wave of supporting acts such as the legendary Lauryn Hill, and Brandy she’s headlined her very own sold-out show at The O2 Islington accompanied by a dazzling 9-piece band and showing fans what to expect for her upcoming debut album.
Her last single ‘Alive’ garnered 100,000s of streams across Spotify and Apple Music even catching the attention of Sam Smith who posted the song to his social media.
Her new self-penned single ‘Lover Lover’ is Rachel’s follow up single. The song’s vibrant uptempo instrumentation with live brass meets contemporary Caribbean inspired drums-an ode to her Caribbean heritage. Vibrantly celebrating the beauty of a love free from drama, carnality and stress – ultimately a superior love that gives her peace.
Speaking on the new single Rachel says:
Having just received its first official play via DJ Ace‘s #EveryThingRnB Show on BBC 1xtra, this anthemic number sets a bar for her album which we’re convinced she’ll deliver against.
