E ^ R T H lifts our spirits with her rendition of “Summertime”

By March 30, 2018 No Comments

We’ve entered the Easter period in dreary fashion with the weather being overcast and rain falling in the capital. But despite the cloudy skies we’ve got a hint of real Summer as we’ve been gifted this new rendition of the classic “Summertime” from E ^ R T H .

Previously delivered by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday & Nina Simone, its a tall order to take on such a track but the Soul Surge UK co-host delivers an authentic spin on a Jazz classic.

‘If I were a vegetable , you wouldn’t find me in Tescos, more like the in allotment on the left down the road. Everything is strictly organic.’

With a healthy dose of new instrumentation offered by her band, the songbird sings her soul out. Her warm tones and low vocal ranges accompany nostalgic base lines in this rearrangement of a classic piece.

Catch the track below or stream it via Spotify and let us know your thoughts.
