By March 26, 2015July 13th, 2017No Comments

Recent Island Records signee, JP Cooper is a rare talent. We’re not ashamed to let the world know we’ve got all his EPs (pre signing) sitting in the office. It’s great to witness his ascent from wowing audiences in small venues across England to his first visual effort in the shape of “Closer“. Fresh off a recent SXSW performance he delivers a track about the desire to spend more time with his son; this one packs quite an emotional punch whilst simultaneously pulling at the listeners hear strings.

The Nicholas Pinnock (Fortitude, Captain America) starring visuals see direction provided by  Drew Cox, whose interpretation of the song speaks on the topics of mental health, the loss of a child, and the need for communication. Apparently the video is due to be adapted into a short film which will feature JP’s ‘When the Darkness Comes’ EP as it’s soundtrack and all in aid of supporting CALM, a charity with a valiantly  raises awareness of male mental health; and the need to ask for help.

Closer’ is taken from JP’s ‘When The Darkness Comes’ EP, which collectively explores a journey of love, longing and loss. If you like what you see and hear make sure you grab a copy  iTunes; and remember where you heard of him first.

#MoreMusicLessNoise and all that soul stirring stuff.
