After a lengthy hiatus, UK rap royalty, Lioness, returned with an almighty bang as she let loose her hard hitting DBT Freestlye towards the end of last year. A barrage of bars ensued with commentary on the navigation of colourism and chauvinism within UK’s music scene that’s unfortunately been a common point of contention for many of our extremely talented yet under-celebrated sisters.
For the highly anticipated remix, which was released a few days ago, Lioness enlists features from Hip-Hop and Grime juggernauts Little Simz, Lady Leshurr, Shystie, Stush and Queenie. An iconic showing of camaraderie weaves itself throughout this Wowa directed visual, as each emcee delivers verses which compound their rightful position as some of the highest calibre lyricists in the country.
We’re hoping this is a watershed moment for the scene; and ecstatic that unashamedly one of our favourite artists, Lioness, is at the helm. Check out the video to the remix below.
