IYKZ & Maleek Berry team up for infectious single “Show Me Mercy”

By October 15, 2019No Comments

London based artist IYKZ teams up with long term collaborator, Maleek Berry, for the release of the visuals to his summer banger, ‘Show Me Mercy’.

With the single having racked up over 500k streams and debuting with a Top 3 position on Spotify’s biggest Afrobeats playlist “African Heat”,  accompanied with the new Ashleigh Jade directed visual, ‘Show Me Mercy’ continues to pick up steam as it careers towards being one of the stand out tracks of the summer.

The heavily Afrobeats infused single, produced by Legendary Beatz (Wizkid, Yxng Bane), sees IYKZ narrating over a pulsating beat as he attempts to try and get back into the good graces of his lady. Two-time MOBO Awards nominee and long term friend, Maleek Berry, lends his vocals to the serenade and all together the track culminates into a fine recipe for a hit.

“‘Show Me Mercy’ is about [us] letting our guard down and not being this tough figure all the time. This record embodies trial and error; becoming a black man that expresses his emotions, which is very important.”

This is the second official collaborative outing (fifth in total) of IYKZ alongside afrobeats powerhouse, Maleek Berry. Friends for over 10 years, during that time they’ve managed to craft their own unique and personal sound, most recently displayed on previous single “They Know (Wan Mo)”. Speaking on their collaborative efforts Maleek says:

“IYKZ is an amazing artist; lyricist and songwriter, someone who’s serious about his craft. I feel like his time is about to begin, although he’s been doing [music] for a long time.”

Check out the single and respective visuals below and make sure you add “Show Me Mercy” to your playlists on Spotify. We know it’s already turned into a dreary autumn, but hopefully a couple spins of this will keep the sun lingering around a little longer.
